I did an inerveiw with Lady Valmar. I first disocvered her for here "I like BDSM so I must be weird" photograph. Most people are too shy to post these things and I love any artist with the balls to make this kind of statement.

Lady Valmar and I become fast friends. We have art on the same things but she is visual I have writings, kind of like a yin/yang thing going on. I think this differece in the portayal makes us easier to communicate.

B3nwa: What got you into art?

LV: It started with elementary school. All the girls in third grade were drawing Sailor Moon and Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty and Keroppi and I wanted to draw the characters as well as them. So I began practicing and it just kind of sailed on from there. In high school is when I really started to draw. I took a class on drawing my Senior year and began to develop a better understanding of how to draw people and objects. I’m still learning how to draw but I have progressed a lot since high school.

B3nwa: What are your favorite books or writers?

LV: My favorite books are J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series, Keri Arthur’s Riley Jenson Guardian Series, Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel series, The Drizzt Do’Urden series, Lynsay Sands' 'Argeneau' series and Jane Linskold's 'Firekeeper' series.

In fanfiction my favorite writers are Shayz and unlikely.story

B3nwa: Are you really writing a novel?

LV: I am currently writing a novel titled ‘After Tonight’. It is classified as a vampire romance novel. My intention is for my book to published in the fantasy section hopefully. I had never intended on romance when I began focusing on writing a novel. My first novel was a Science Fiction but it turned out too grand for my busy schedule. Instead I put it aside and decided that writing a novel was too big a task. Then one day I woke up while my husband was at work, doing what is called a watch and had a clear idea of what I wanted to write, how the story would progress etc.

I spent the rest of the night typing up the vivid dream I’d had. When I’d finished I sat back and didn’t look at it for two days. On day two in the evening I looked it over and began planning. Before I knew it I had 3 chapters and I was emailing a few people I knew to see if they could edit it. I am in the process of looking for an agent currently and I have 7 chapters now.

B3nwa: What are your plans for your art/writing?

LV: My plan is to publish my novel and perhaps if all goes well pursue a career as a novelist and/or tv show actor. As for my art I plan on, if possible, doing the art for my novel and hopefully use my art as an addition to my career.

B3nwa:Why don’t you give out your real name?

LV: I do it for privacy reasons. I have had two stalkers in my past online experience. There will come a time once I am a published author that I will but until then I prefer to use my pen name.
